Questions About Boudoir Photography?

The thought of a boudoir session can be nerve-wracking. When talking to women before their session, we hear all kinds of questions. In hopes to ease some pre-mature nerves, we’ve compiled a list of our most frequently asked questions about boudoir to give you some insight on preparing for a boudoir session with us!

Here are some of our most frequently asked questions…

Do you share my images?

We will only share your photos with your explicit written permission first. Boudoir is a very intimate experience and we understand that many women choose to keep their photos private. At your session, your photographer will have you sign a waiver and at that time you can decide if you would like to share them or keep them private.

Do I have to wear lingerie?

This shoot is about YOU! That means whatever makes you feel sexy and confident in your skin. Whether it’s your partner’s favorite jersey, a button-up, or a simple sheet! The choice is always yours but if you are looking for some ideas check out our guide here.

Do you have payment plans available?

YES! Our layaway payment plans are designed to fit every budget. Check out our options here to see which one suits your needs best.

Are hair and make-up included in my photoshoot?

We do not offer hair and make-up for our sessions because we want to do a shoot that is uniquely you. This is not a cookie-cutter session with the same glam make-up done over and over again. We never want to force you into some pre-decided version of what we think a boudoir-sexy-sensual session should be. We shoot women of every shape, size, and preference so our goal is to celebrate YOUR vision behind the shoot, always!

Do you photoshop my images?

Your photos will be edited prior to your photo reveal and purchasing session. Your photographer will choose the best images from your session (80-100+) and she will send them to an editor who will make them look their best, change a few to black and white, etc. We offer two levels of complimentary retouching for you to choose from – light or medium. Where should I buy outfits?

While that choice is completely up to you, we do have a few options to spur that imagination in our handy guide linked here.

What type of print products do you have?

However you want to commemorate your session, we have got you covered!  We offer a variety of product options including customizable high-quality handmade albums, metal prints, and gorgeous canvases.  Our most popular product is our luxe memory box that will house your favorite prints and you can tuck away for safekeeping. Our client Dazarita said it best “I had to get the memory box to look back at.  It will remind me… “I’M IT!”

Do you offer digitals?

Yes!  We offer several package options that include hi-resolution, fully retouched images with a print release so you can make your vision come to life.  Package sizes vary from bringing home your entire gallery to picking a few of your favorites.

I’m freaking out!  How can I calm my nerves?

Nerves are completely normal!  The idea of a stranger taking intimate photos of you is out of a lot of people’s comfort zones.   Our advice is to just breathe.  Leading up to the shoot, your photographer will reach out to introduce themselves and address any concerns you may have.  You will also be invited to join our VIP group on Facebook with over 30,000 other women who have been through the experience too (and are happy to answer any questions).  The hardest part is getting to the studio.  We promise that a few moments with our expert photographers will ease your nerves and you will be ready to rock your shoot! 

How many outfits should I bring?

For a full luxe session, we suggest that you bring two to four outfit choices.  Anything more than that might mean extra time spent deciding rather than shooting.  This might result in fewer photo options to choose from during your reveal.  Our number 1 tip is to make sure you feel beautiful in everything!  If you aren’t 100% about an outfit choice, we advise leaving it at home. 

Should I get to my shoot early?

It is always advisable to arrive at your session a bit early.  With traffic, knowledge of the area, and nerves it is normal to have a bit of stress upon arrival.  Getting to the location, with a few minutes to spare, and waiting in the car until your session time will give you a chance to catch your breath.  Also, we often schedule back-to-back appointments so be sure and arrive on time with your outfits chosen and organized.

Where is your studio located?

One of the most important things to remember is that All Things Boudoir is a traveling boudoir photography company.  Even though our home base is in Denver, CO we are currently bringing the boudoir experience to 54 cities in the United States.  We try to visit each city for a long weekend about once a month.  In each city, we rent beautiful spaces for your backdrop and switch it up often so that your photographs are uniquely yours.  You will get all of the location details, including your photographer’s information, in the weeks leading up to your shoot.
