When Photographer Brittany from works with a new client, she makes sure you feel as relaxed and comfortable as possible. “I let them know it will be just us two, and we carefully plan the outfits, locations, and their vision for the shoot. Then we rock out to their favorite music while I guide them through the poses!” 

Photographer Kristy from likes to sit down with you before you get in your first outfits. “We talk about why they decided to come in for a shoot. Remembering why they came helps empower them to actually get into that first look,” she explains. 

Your photographer will take the time to make you feel completely comfortable: “[sic] I guide them the whole time, from their toes, to their hair, and everything in between. I’m constantly fixing little details so they can feel confident that I’m going to make them look their best,” Kristy says. “We have them take deep breaths in and out while they are posing to release any leftover tension. We joke and laugh, and it feels like we’ve been old friends in just a few minutes!” 

What Should I Wear to My Boudoir Photoshoot? 

Wear something that makes you feel comfortable and sexy—whether it’s lingerie or something more modest. Your comfort is what is important! You can bring along accessories like jewelry or scarves that bring out colors in your outfits or add texture to the photos. Most importantly, don’t forget to have fun—the goal is to create artful images that reflect how amazing you look and feel!  

Photographer Sharon from recommends her clients four different categories to complete a well-rounded Boudoir Photography session: ‘Classic Sexy,’ ‘Pretty,’ ‘Flirty,’ and ‘Sultry.’ “Each fit has several options to choose from,” she says. “‘Classic Sexy’ would be something like a garter set or bodysuit. ‘Pretty’ would be a nighty, gown, or robe look.” 

To finish off your session, she recommends that you try a ‘Flirty’ look next. “[sic] ‘Flirty’ could be sporty, like a jersey or a cute lace pajama set. And ‘Sultry’ would be something almost nude, like a sheet or a skimpy teddy; a piece outside your comfort zone!” 

And there’s one option that works for everything! “[sic] A white button-up can be dressed up or down to fit in all four categories!”
